Dr Madan Kataria, a medical doctor from Bombay, tagged as the ” Guru of Giggling ” by London Times started Laughter Yoga in 1995.His idea was initially laughed at and thought to be a joke but instead has become popular and accepted globally.Laughter is considered as nature’s stress-buster.Research has been done on the therapeutic value of laughter for the past 40 years and it has proven without doubt that hormones and chemicals released during laughter has a positive effect on our body, mind and emotion.

laughter yogaLaughter Yoga uses a combination of deep breathing, stretching exercises, rhythmic clapping and simulated laughter.In Laughter Yoga class, you do not need a reason to laugh.It is based on the philosophy of acting happiness.A fake or genuine laughter produces the same happy chemistry. In fact, a simulated laughter with a group of people quickly becomes real.After all, as we know, laughter is infectious and Laughter Yoga movement has proven it.By the end of the class, you will feel much happier, calmer and more relaxed.
