tantra yogaTantra is Freedom,
Freedom from all mind constructs,
Freedom from all mind games,
Freedom from all structures.
Tantra is a space to be
Tantra is liberation.

Tantra Yoga is one of the ancient yoga meditation path from the East, with roots in Hinduism and Buddhism, originated more than 5000 years ago and it is still being practiced today.Tan means “expansion” and Tra means “liberation”.

In Tantra, Life is a meditation. The aim of Tantra is to expand awareness in all levels of consciousness in order to realize the Supreme Being.Tantra views the body as a temple and human beings as sexual beings. It teaches us to savor life fully in the present moment with total awareness and use each life experience including sexual experience as a potential to transcend oneself to reach Self-Realization.

Sexual rituals form only a minor part of Tantra Yoga and it is undertaken to enlighten the body and mind to attain peace and harmony within. To reap the benefits, Tantra Yoga must be practiced daily with the guidance of a Guru and it uses various tools such as extensive meditation, breathing techniques, yoga postures, mantras, rituals and visualization of deities for a profound experience.

Practice of Tantra Yoga will awaken and raise the “kundalini” energy which lays dormant at the base of the spine,in a form of a serpent, to ascend through each chakras until it reaches the crown chakra (sahasrara) and merge with cosmic consciousness.

Once a Tantric yogi has mastered his mind and body, he is now ready to engage in physical contact with a partner whose energies compliments his own.Tantra lovemaking opens the partners to one another on every level, sexually and spiritually.Tantra believes orgasm is a cosmic experience and it encourages us to enjoy the journey.Tantra couples do not try to achieve orgasm but instead they visualize the pranic energy between them and try to draw it upwards.

Tantra Yoga is a pure yoga path which has been abused and misunderstood. It is not concerned with sexuality but uses sexual energy as a means to transcend oneself. Practice of Tantra Yoga in the West has deviated from the original concept of Tantra Yoga as it has omitted certain elements such as extensive meditation, rituals, mantras and etc. Many Western seekers view Tantra Yoga as a sexual practice and confuse ordinary orgasm with tantric orgasm.

Tantra Yoga classes usually incorporate yoga postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, meditation and various approaches to partnering.
